A 3-hour walk through modern Singapore's history, that stretches back 700 years, to the modern day metropolis that it is today. Explore Chinese accounts of Temasek or Sea Town, the 1819 landing of Sir Stamford Raffles, and the treaty he negotiated that established Singapore as a trading station. Learn about the WWII Japanese invasion, their surrender and Singapore's path to becoming an independent nation. Uncover these stories through Singapore's ultra modern architecture that blend harmoniously with its well preserved heritage. You'll see attractions like the Merlion, and historical gems like the mail tunnel in the old Singapore post office and the old parliament house.

The tour sets off from The Walking Singapore in Esplanade and makes its first stop at the major tourist attraction, Merlion Park, to learn about Singapore's mythical national icon, the half lion half fish, Merlion. As your guide takes you towards the river's oldest bridge, Cavenagh Bridge, you'll pass through the mail tunnel of the old Singapore Post Office, which is today's Fullerton Hotel.

The walk continues to the Old Parliament House, the oldest surviving building in Singapore. Learn about its many uses and extensions through time, and the restoration works that transformed it to today's The Arts House. The tour will then make a stop to sample a Singaporean breakfast staple, charcoal-grilled kaya toast and teh tarik. Kaya is a traditional jam made from coconut and eggs; teh tarik is a hot milk tea beverage which literally means pulled tea.

After a quick bite, the walk leads you into the downtown core of Singapore to the National Gallery, home to the world's largest collection of Singapore and South East Asian art. Finally, a walk through the South Beach Complex will take you to the Fountain of Wealth where you will be invited to walk around a mini fountain at the center of the fountain's base three times for good luck.

You will then make a stop at the Cookie Museum to sample uniquely flavored cookies like Pandan Chiffon, Chili Crab and Chicken Rice. The 3-hour walking tour comes to an end back at The Walking Singapore where our guides will present you with some gifts before sending you off to enjoy the rest of your Singapore adventure.
